Language Asset Management (Language Asset Details)
目次
What is a language asset?
There are two types of language assets in this system: “TM (translation memory)” and “Glossary”. In both cases, as a general rule, the source and translation pair (TU = Translation Unit) is counted as one line. You can register (import) your language assets in the following three ways. For details, please see the section below for details. The registered language assets can be used in Quick PE and LAC (Custom MT Model Management) of this system.
- (1) Import the language data (files) that you have locally.
- (2) Extract language data from available texts on the Internet (or files you have locally) by leveraging AI, and import the aligned data.
- (3) Import the stockdata provided in this system.
| Service | How to use | TM (Non Stockdata) |

| Select as a translation memory | X | X | |||

The language pairs of language assets supported by this system are English-Japanese/Japanese-English only.
Information in Language Asset Details screen
Detailed data of the language asset is displayed on this screen. You can only change the following items.
- Language Asset Name: An arbitrary string of each language asset. It is displayed in the following places. It is recommended that you include language information in your language asset name. (Example: "MainTM1(ENJA)" or "用語集2022(日英)")
- Quick PE (Group Details and Project Details screens): Lists of [LAC Glossary] and [LAC Translation Memory]
- In LAC's Custom MT Model Management (Custom training and Custom glossary setting): Screens for selecting language assets
- Using Data in Quick PE: Specifies whether to be used in Quick PE. If the language asset is "TM", it can be used only as TM, and if the asset is "Glossary", it can be used as both TM and glossary. The default value is “Disabled”. Set “Enabled” for a language asset that are used in Quick PE.
- Domain, Subdomain: Domain and Subdomain set for the language asset.
- Document Type, Subdocument Type: Document type and Subdocument type set for the language asset.
- Tag: The tag(s) set for the language asset.
- Comment: You can add any information about the language asset.
The default value of the language asset name depends on how the language asset is registered.
・If you imported the language data you have: File name (without the extension) of the original (source) file.
・Aligned Data: Name of the data specified as the "source language" when aligning from the extracted data list (the first data if multiple source language data are specified).
・Stockdata: Name displayed in the Stockdata list.

・Aligned Data: Name of the data specified as the "source language" when aligning from the extracted data list (the first data if multiple source language data are specified).
・Stockdata: Name displayed in the Stockdata list.
The stockdata is provided for the purpose of being used as teacher data for the custom training. Therefore, the language assets registered from the stockdata have the following restrictions:
・Cannot be merged with other language assets.
・Cannot be exported.
・Cannot be used as a translation memory in Quick PE.

・Cannot be used as a translation memory in Quick PE.
Domains, Document Types, and Tags
Domain/Subdomain, Document Type/Subdocument Type, and Tag are optional. You can use this attribute information as a guide to identify the necessary language assets, and perform filtering and grouping.
- Domain/Subdomain: Field of the industry (industry type). When you select a domain, the drop-down list of subdomains is automatically filtered.
- Document Type/Subdocument Type: The type (purpose) of the language data. When you select a document type, the drop-down list of sub-document types is automatically filtered.
- Tag: Free-form string (keyword) to label the language asset
These are optional items and do not affect the behavior in the LAC. Use this function when you need to perform filtering or grouping as the number of language assets increases.
