Language Asset Management (Stock Data List)

目次

    What is a language asset?

There are two types of language assets in this system: “TM (translation memory)” and “Glossary”. In both cases, as a general rule, the source and translation pair (TU = Translation Unit) is counted as one line. You can register (import) your language assets in the following three ways. For details, please see the section below for details. The registered language assets can be used in Quick PE and LAC (Custom MT Model Management) of this system.
    (1) Import the language data (files) that you have locally.
    (2) Extract language data from available texts on the Internet (or files you have locally) by leveraging AI, and import the aligned data.
    (3) Import the stockdata provided in this system.

    Information in Stockdata List screen

This screen displays a list of stockdata that can be used as language assets. The stockdata is the language data offered by this system, and the domains and document types are set as attributes. The type is "TM". By importing the necessary stockdata, a customer can use it as it's language assets.

The import of stockdata (registration of language assets) are in scope of the limits of the maximum number of TUs for each organization. As you cannot import stockdata larger than the limit of the number of TUs, when you import stockdata with more than [Number of TUs available], please increase the TU Limits in advance by deleting the existing language assets, or expand the upper limit of TUs (additional purchase).
The stockdata is provided for the purpose of being used as teacher data for the custom training. Therefore, the language assets registered from the stockdata have the following restrictions:
・Cannot be merged with other language assets.
      ・Cannot be exported.
・Cannot be used as a translation memory in Quick PE.

      • Upper Limit of TUs (Your plan: ***): The limit on the number of TUs of language assets an organization can own and the current contract plan. The TU limit is set for each contract plan and can be extended (additional purchase).
      • Number of TUs you own: The number of TUs of the language assets (all language assets including imported stockdata) owned by the organization.
      • Number of TUs available: The maximum number of TUs minus the number of owned TUs. Please use it as a guide for the tolerance when importing stockdata.
You can only import the stockdata with TUs less than or equal to [Number of TUs available]. If insufficient, please increase the number of available TUs by deleting the existing language assets, or expand the limit of the number of TUs (additional purchase).

      • Name: Name of the stockdata
      • Language: Source and translation languages of the stockdata
      • Domain/Document Type: Domain, Subdomain, Document type, and Subdocument type set for the stockdata
      • Tags: The tag(s) set for the stockdata
      • Latest version: "○" is displayed for the latest version of each stockdata.
When you import the latest version of the stockdata, it will be a different language asset from the stockdata of the old version. Therefore, if you import the latest version without deleting the old one, you will have similar TUs more than once. If you want to replace the previously imported version with the latest version, we recommend you to delete the language assets of the old version before importing the latest version. * However, please note that in this case, the changes made to the language assets of the old version will not be reflected to the latest version.
    • TU Count: The number of TUs contained in the stockdata
    • In use: If the stockdata has already been imported as a language asset, the number of TUs in use is displayed.
    • [Import] button: Click to display Stockdata Import screen. After checking the displayed contents, you can start the import process from [Import] button there.

    Domains, Document Types, and Tags

Domain/Subdomain, Document Type/Subdocument Type, and Tag are the attribute information set for the language asset. You can use this attribute information as a guide to identify the necessary language assets, and perform filtering and grouping. You can also set it for language asset data registered in versions prior to XMAT3.0.

    • Domain/Subdomain: Field of the industry (industry type). When you select a domain, the drop-down list of subdomains is automatically filtered.
    • Document Type/Subdocument Type: The type (purpose) of the language data. When you select a document type, the drop-down list of sub-document types is automatically filtered.
    • Tag: Free-form string (keyword) to label the language asset
These are optional items and do not affect the behavior in the LAC. Use this function when you need to perform filtering or grouping as the number of language assets increases.
